The National Night Out event, which has been a huge neighborhood success in bringing neighbors together, is scheduled for the evening of August 5th this year. Everyone is encouraged to bring a small appetizer or desert. The Hiltonia Association will provide soda, water, juice, hot dogs, and hamburgers. Hopefully Boomer, of the Trenton Thunder will be able to attend.

Thanks to the gracious offer of Ali and Kim Wilson, the annual Hiltonia Garden Party will be held on Saturday, July 19th starting at 5 pm. The address is 111 Kensington Ave and everyone is asked to bring an appetizer or main course item to feed roughly 6 - 8 people. Please bring your item in a container that can be thrown out or have it clearly marked. Deserts, as well as refreshments will be provided by the Hiltonia Association.
It is time for a home made version of Clean House. Or perhaps you need a few extra items for your own collections. In any case, Hiltonia's annual flea market is set for June 21st this year. Several other neighborhoods will be joining in on the same day as well. The sales start at 8:00am, but expect some people to be hawking the neighborhood earlier. Remember, most sales are usually very early on.
The Hiltonia Association is making arrangements for someone to pick up any unsold items at the end of the day. In the event of rain, the yard sale will be held the next day, Sunday the 22nd.
Trenton NJ – Mr. Timothy Marshall, formerly Vice President and Deputy Administrator of
New York’s Central Park Conservancy and currently president and owner of ETM
Associates will address the Public & Private Challenge: Restoring Cadwalader Park.
The lecture is another in a series sponsored by Cadwalader Park Alliance. The event is free
and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

In the West Ward CPAC meeting held Thursday evening, September 27th, members of the Trenton PD asked the neighborhood groups to remind everyone to lock their car doors when they park. Also discussed at the meeting were some of the issues the police were having with continued gang activity around Hoffman Ave, with one small pocket around Montgomery Place.
I got a chance to view the video room that monitors cameras. Note to everyone: If you have a security camera for your house (indoor or out) that is internet capable, you can give your ip address to the police department and they can add it to their monitoring list. This could be especially helpful if you plan to be away for a while on vacation or you have an outside facing camera that would would be a welcome set of extra "eyes" for our police department.
Nominations from the floor will be accepted at the November general meeting, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, November 13th at 7:30 pm. Additionally, the nominating committee, led by Linda Reid, will be presenting an "official" slate of officers. All elections will be conducted at the January general meeting.
